Vacances Ski France
The resort of Courchevel spans four villages, each named for their altitude in metres –1300, 1550, 1650 and 1850. Courchevel offers excellent skiing at any level and fantastic après ski. It has great access to the Three Valleys, making it one of the largest ski areas in the world.
Courchevel 1850 Village
Courchevel 1850 is the highest of the resorts, and not only in altitude. Renowned for its high prices and exclusivity, some of the bars and restaurants charge up to 2000 Euros for a bottle of bubbly. However, if you know where to go, there are some very pleasant, reasonably priced bars.
The skiing itself at 1850 is outstanding.
For beginners, Verdons, Jardin Alpin & Bellecote, all leading into La Croissette (the departure point for most of the lifts) are excellent. Wide and long, they offer the perfect training ground for a novice skier.
