Cook County Teacher Vacancy List
The pioneer settlers of the Los Angeles Vineyard Society were educated people. Most had received a solid “common school” education in Europe and had gone on to become successful skilled tradesmen, engineers, musicians, business owners, physicians and persons of letters.
They had used their education to select the Santa Ana Valley as the location of the Anaheim Mother Colony cooperative wine making venture in what is now Orange County, California. They depended on their shared specialized skills to purchase the land, acquire the water rights, survey and plot the land and select the most productive varieties of grapes.
They fully understood that their children were their message to the future and wanted educational opportunities to enable their children to take their rightful place in the meritocracy of America that Anaheim represented.
